Monastery of St.Naum

The monastery of St.Naum is situated along Lake Ohrid, 29km south of the city of Ohrid near the Albanian border. The monastery settelment gets its name from the saint who founded the famous monastery situated on a high rocks.  The monastery was established in the year 905 by St Naum of Ohrid himself. St Naum is also buried in the church.Due to the beautiful setting, the monastery is among the most popular destinations in the Republic of Macedonia. There is a hotel, and several restaurants operating in warmer days, from early spring until late autumn.
